Sunshine Coast
Pet Grooming Salon
Meet Chenelle
Animals have been a huge part of my life for as long as I can remember. Growing up, I was always drawn to animals and knew from a young age that I wanted to build a career working with them in some capacity. At 20, I completed my studies and stepped into the veterinary nursing industry, believing it was exactly where I was meant to be. While I learned an enormous amount and gained valuable experience, it didn't take long for me to realise it wasn't the right fit for me long term. What I loved most wasn't the clinical side of the industry, it was the relationships, the connection with people and their pets, and being able to play a positive role in their everyday lives.
That realisation ultimately led me into the pet industry, where I found my place.
Before moving to the Sunshine Coast, I spent almost a decade building and growing a successful pet care business in the Southern Highlands of New South Wales. Over those years I worked with hundreds of families, cared for thousands of pets and built an incredible team. It was an experience that taught me not only about business, but about trust, communication and the responsibility that comes with caring for somebody's much-loved family member.
For me, pets have never been "just animals". They are companions through life's biggest moments, a source of comfort during difficult times and often one of the most important members of the household. That belief has shaped the way I've approached every business I've built and every client relationship I've formed.
When my family and I made the move to the Sunshine Coast, we were looking for a lifestyle that aligned with the next chapter we wanted to create. More time outdoors, more family time and the opportunity to build something new in a place we loved. When the opportunity came up to take over Sunshine Coast Pet Grooming, it felt like the perfect fit.
What I love most about grooming isn't creating the perfect haircut. It's seeing nervous dogs become more comfortable with each visit, helping senior dogs remain comfortable as they age, supporting owners who are doing their best and creating an experience where dogs are treated with patience, kindness and understanding. Every dog that walks through our doors has their own personality, their own quirks and their own story, and that's one of the things I love most about this industry.
Outside of the salon, life is wonderfully busy. My husband Tyler and I have two beautiful children and our home is filled with dogs. Simba, Martha and Teddy are a huge part of our lives and, if we're being honest, are probably a little spoiled. They are the reason I understand how important trust is when you're leaving your dog in somebody else's care because I'm exactly the same when it comes to my own.
When I'm not at the salon, you'll usually find me at the beach, spending time outdoors with my family or enjoying a round of golf whenever I can sneak one in. Living on the Sunshine Coast has given us the lifestyle we'd always hoped for and I genuinely love being part of this community.
Alongside the salon, I also work as a mentor to pet business owners across Australia and internationally. After building, growing and eventually selling my previous pet care business, I developed a passion for helping others navigate the challenges of business ownership within the pet industry. Supporting people, whether that's through grooming, mentoring or simply sharing what I've learned along the way, is something I find incredibly rewarding.
At Sunshine Coast Pet Grooming, my goal is simple. I want every dog to feel safe, every owner to feel welcomed and every appointment to be a positive experience from start to finish. Whether you're visiting us for the first time or you've been part of our salon family for years, I want you to know your dog is being cared for by people who genuinely love what they do.
Thank you for trusting us with your pets. We look forward to welcoming you and your dog into the salon.
